[05:51]<Veltas> They're all using 10+ yo computers, give them a break
[05:52]<@BC_Programming> if anybody has problems with Windws 8 booting and stuff suddenly its OMFG its UEFI were doomed they are destroying the world
[05:53]<Veltas> Making a daily point to dial-up to the CH forums with IE4 and talk to those nice young people with computer problems.
[05:54]<@BC_Programming> what?
[05:55]<@BC_Programming> It has nothing to do with them having older PCs or not, and everything to do with them being incompetent. Ive already full explained UEFI to geek-9pm at least twice and he still jumps on teh bandwagon that its some Microsoft Anti-Linux scan
[05:55]<@BC_Programming> scam*
[05:56]<Veltas> Yeah fair enough, I personally don't know anything about it because I've still not actually bought a UEFI computer. Just about missed it the last time I bought a motherboard.
[05:57]<@BC_Programming> thats the thing though, its really easy to find unbiased information online about what UEFI is and how it works, but they dont bother. They just google it and use the first result
[05:58]<Veltas> There has definitely been a lot of bad press about it. You can thank the leaders of the free software community for that.
[05:58]<Veltas> But yeah, this politics shouldn't exactly be a hurdle dealing with someone's Windows 8 problem :S
[05:58]<@BC_Programming> yeah they seem to have a high ignorance stat

[07:06]<+camerongray> My desktop and laptop are UEFI, never even notice on my desktop
[07:06]<+camerongray> Laptop had to disable secure boot to run Linux but that's hardly an issue
[07:06]<@BC_Programming> No thats impossible, now let me tell you an unrelated story </davelembke>
[07:07]<+camerongray> Haha
[07:07]<+camerongray> I really don't get the obsession with many people on CH or like vwestlife who seem obsessed with using ancient PCs
[07:08]<Veltas> Oh god
[07:08]<+camerongray> I mean, I collect ancient PCs but I don't try to USD them!
[07:08]<Veltas> I am subscribed to vwestlife
[07:08]<Veltas> Don't hate me
[07:08]<+camerongray> I am too
[07:08]<+camerongray> I like lots of his videos
[07:08]<Veltas> He is pretty good
[07:08]<Veltas> I just kind of like having random tech stuff shown to me
[07:08]<+camerongray> But his "XP is the best OS" stuff is stupid
[07:08]<Veltas> Did he say that?
[07:09]<+camerongray> Watch his POSReady video
[07:09]<@BC_Programming> yeah I unsubbed after that
[07:09]<+camerongray> Then when he got an i5 based PC and put POSReady on it
[07:09]<Veltas> lol
[07:09]<+camerongray> And said "I've never bought a new PC" as though that's some sort of achievement
[07:10]<Veltas> Well for /that/ PC it made sense to run POSReady
[07:10]<Veltas> Not the i5
[07:10]<Veltas> But if he likes using XP then let him use it
[07:10]<@BC_Programming> isnt he also proud of having no udnerstanding of Linux?
[07:10]<+camerongray> I still watch his videos but tend to watch bbishoppcm and uxwbill more
[07:10]<@BC_Programming> yeah me too
[07:11]<Veltas> A lot of tech people on YouTube seem to be ignorant of Linux. Linux seems to attract mostly just programmers or people interested in programming.
[07:11]<@BC_Programming> you should have ended that at the 11th word, A lot of tech people on Youtube seem to be ignorant
[07:11]<+camerongray> Hehe
[07:14]<@BC_Programming> Smooth McGroove is cool, he does acapellas of Video game music lol
[07:16]<Veltas> I don't really like acapellas but he is pretty good
[07:16]<@BC_Programming> The cat really is the star though
[07:17]<Veltas> Yes
[07:17]<Veltas> If I ever make videos that would be true
[07:18]<Veltas> He gets his product key for POSReady from "another video on YouTube" during that video lol
[07:19]<Veltas> "although I can't vouch for its legality, it does seem to work"
[07:19]<@BC_Programming> haha
[07:19]<@BC_Programming> I seem to remember downloading it from MSDN and trying to use it in a VM
[07:20]<@BC_Programming> ahh yes still there in VMWare, POSReady 2009
[07:20]<Veltas> The theme looks pretty cool. Cool for XP
[07:21]<@BC_Programming> Ahh right, the keyboard stopped working after it installed
[07:22]<Veltas> How does that even happen?
[07:22]<@BC_Programming> probably USB-keyboard related
[07:23]<Veltas> I remember Windows 8 used to continuously forget how to use my mouse and keyboard
[07:24]<Veltas> I guess I can't really complain though because apparantly my mobo doesn't support 8
[07:24]<@BC_Programming> heh work VPN was down for a while yesterday
[07:24]<@BC_Programming> one my my co-workers went in to reset it, it was good, then he left, and bam down again
[07:25]<@BC_Programming> then two of them went in and when the rest of us checked, before they even did anything, it worked
[07:25]<@BC_Programming> So yeah that was exciting
[07:26]<@BC_Programming> and then I never got an answer to my question about why I cant retrieve a historic POSDocument with the key 001*I*04382A when it is clearly an invoice in XPS0605.DATA
[07:30]<Veltas> camerongray: I recently bought a ZX Spectrum +2, but I'm not planning on trying to use it for anything useful.

[07:39]<Veltas> http://youtu.be/bttYIH1SdmY?t=3m49s
[07:39]<@BC_Programming> no I mean I have too much monies and I need to spend them
[07:39]<@BC_Programming> too much monies, the struggle is real
[07:40]<@BC_Programming> url gives me server not found
[07:41]<@BC_Programming> ahh had to add https://
[07:43]<Veltas> Weird
[07:43]<Veltas> That's the link YouTube gave me from its share menu, so ask Google!
[08:05]<Veltas> camerongray: Thrift stores...

[15:59]<Tux2> lol, I got a client who's been ddosed 3 times in the past 2 days. Hasn't affected the service too much but I wonder if he wasn't so arrogant to people if he would have ever gotten ddosed in the first place...
[16:00]<@BC_Programming> haha what did he do
[16:00]<Tux2> lol, he said nothing
[16:00]<Tux2> I know him better
[16:01]<Tux2> He gets fired up about anything and treats people horrbily
[16:01]<Tux2> horribly*
[16:02]<Tux2> Of course I know you would probably use more colorful language to describe him.
[16:03]<Tux2> Same guy that I showed you his video earlier where he was just saying why Battlefield 4 is going to Suck
[16:04]<@BC_Programming> ahhh
[16:04]<Tux2> He's got so many people mad at him he's had over $700 in Paypal chargebacks so he can't use paypal now, he won't use Skype because it's "s***", and the only way he'll voice chat me is through Steam Voice chat. :P
[16:05]<Tux2> Even though he'll use Skype for text chat all day long with me
[16:05]<@BC_Programming> lol
[16:06]<@BC_Programming> but you know, its everybody else, not him :P
[16:06]<Tux2> ha ha! That's EXACTLY what he things!
[16:07]<Tux2> thinks*
[16:07]<Tux2> lol, I can't type today it looks like
[16:08]<@BC_Programming> yeah but I know that type

[16:09]<Tux2> lol, something goes wrong with his service he berates the support staff, no wonder he gets bad service.
[16:09]<Tux2> Hey Nat
[16:10]<Nat> hi
[16:10]<Tux2> How have you been? Long time no talk!
[16:10]<Nat> tired, busy. etc.
[16:10]<Nat> but otherwise good!
[16:10]<Nat> you?
[16:11]<Tux2> Ah, nice. Gone to any robotics events lately?
[16:11]<Tux2> Tired, busy, etc. but otherwise good!
[16:11]<Nat> nah, there aren't too many during the summer that are free
[16:12]<Tux2> Ah, bummer
[16:12]<Tux2> lol BC_Programming, another ddos attack on his server... he's affecting way too many clients with this... Going to have to get an OVH server
[16:13]<Nat> ouch
[16:13]<Tux2> Eyup. 4th ddos in 2 days
[16:14]<Nat> that's pretty ridiculous
[16:14]<Tux2> I haven't had a ddos on this network yet, then he signs up and the very week he starts advertising his server: ddos
[16:14]<Nat> has it really gotten that popular that quickly?
[16:14]<Tux2> Nice large attacks to: 4.5Gbps
[16:15]<Tux2> No, he ISN'T that popular
[16:15]<Tux2> only 10 players on at a time
[16:15]<Tux2> Probably just old enemies
[16:15]<Nat> geez
[16:16]<Nat> all the people who have tried to attack me, i contact and then get them to code with me :)
[16:16]<Nat> well most
[16:16]<Tux2> Ha ha!
[16:16]<Nat> the other ones are just jerks that disappear pretty quickly
[16:16]<Tux2> Yup
[16:17]<Tux2> This guy has made too many enemies
[16:17]<Nat> apparently
[16:19]<Tux2> Not surprising though, he's not really that nice
[16:19]<Nat> haha
[16:21]<Tux2> The server he runs is fine, however it's the PR that needs to improve
[16:22]<Tux2> I've told him before that the way he treats people causes this to happen to him
[16:23]<Tux2> The ddoser has to run out of money sometime though... 4 hits like this so close together can't be cheap
[16:42]<Nat> i guesso
